The casting waste fragment consists of a sub rectangular sheet, with uneven, almost bubbly surfaces. It is sub rectangular in cross section. Two edges are smooth and unabraded, indicative of a fairly recent break. It is a mid grey colour, with a couple of areas which display a distinctive shiny sheer to it. A sub circular silvered copper alloy object, of possible Roman dating (1 to 410 AD). It is sub circular in plan, and D shaped in section. The top surface is smooth and domed, with a couple of uneven projections. The lower surface is flat. It measures 20.45mm in length, 21.34mm wide and 6.27mm thick. It weighs 13.1grams. The object could be a piece of casting waste, but there are traces of silvering on a couple of areas on both surfaces. The patina is similar to that found on early Roman coins, but this object is too thick to be a coin.

One side appears to have a standing figure holding left arm up and the other, possibly a Roman style standard. The coin weight is a mid to dark green colour, with an even surface patina.
