Copper alloy possible bellows nozzle or tuyere. A cast cylinder with eight longitudinal facets, each ending with a rounded projection; these have all been lightly crimped inwards, probably to secure the object in place. A stamped or incised oval panel appears at the end of each facet, with its upper end formed by these projecting parts. The narrow end has a drilled hole of diameter c.2mm. Copper alloy probable scabbard chape. A conical object made by the rolling of a trapezoid strip of sheet metal thickness 0.4mm with an overlapping seam. Opposed drilled holes of diameter 6mm appear towards the narrower end, where the metal is turned inwards to form a rounded open end. These are unusually large for fixing holes. They might mark the position of a pegged fastener. They look like the finger holes for the mouthpiece of a flute or whistle; however, they are actually positioned a little close to the rounded end for this use when the object is held to the lips. Lead inkwell, as kindly identified by the finder. A cast hollow vessel with a sub-rectangular base and converging indented sides with a half-round cylindrical moulding at each corner. The top is perhaps knife trimmed and features an irregular oval aperture with a three probably intentional nicks in its edge to rest a quill. Patinated. Bone possible skate fragment. A large mammal long bone, probably cannon bone of horse, with a hole of diameter 11.7mm drilled from the posterior aspect immediately below the facets of the articular surface so as to meet the natural longitudinal cavity in the middle of the bone, and breaking out at the other side. Butchery marks appear as angled cuts close to the end of the bone. The facets of the articular surface are abraded, and some bone has been lost around the drilled hole.
