A worn and pierced Post-Medieval Nuremburg jetton, most probably of one of the Hans Schultes family (Hans Schultes I, master from c.AD 1553-1584, Hans Schultes II, master from 1586-1603, Hans Schultes III, master from c.AD 1608-1612).
The unclear obverse possibly shows a design of crown and lis motifs arranged alternately around a central rose or possibly an unclear Lion of St Mark. Obverse initial mark is a rosette. A worn and pierced copper-alloy French Jetton dating to the late Medieval or early Post-Medieval period, not further identified. This jetton has similarities to jettons assigned to the reigns of Louis XI (AD 1461-1483) and Charles VIII (AD 1483-1497) see Mitchiner (pp.207-210, nos.585-600). However, it also has similarities to Stock jettons of Tournai, (c. AD 1415-1497) see Mitchiner (pp.221, nos.647-649) and those assigned to the reigns of Louis XII (AD 1497-1515) and the early years of Francis I (AD 1515-1547) see Mitchiner (pp.238-239, nos.725-731).
