An incomplete late Early-Medieval copper-alloy horse harness fitting, probably a harness-link, which dates from the 11th Century AD. This fragment weighs 19.96g. The complete end comprises an oval loop with three evenly spaced knobs protruding from the outside edge. An oval aperture is present at the centre of this terminal. The aperture measures 10.3mm on the same plane as the artefact's shaft and accounts for 12.2mm of the…

A dice weighing 44.48g and measuring 35.1mm x 34.9mm x 33.5mm. The precise material of manufacture is uncertain, however its appearance strongly suggests mud or clay and appears to contain small black, shiny, rounded inclusions and fibrous material, possibly straw or chaff. No residue comes off on the hand and this artefact is quite firm and cannot be squashed out of shape, however, a human fingernail can make a slight impression. A few tiny fragments have come loose from the object and can be seen as dark specks in the packaging material. This artefact has a sub-cuboid shape wi…

A possible rivet or nail made of lead or lead-alloy of uncertain date. This item weighs 0.88g, has a tapering length of 20.3mm with irregular cross-section. The widest end is flat with a sub-oval cross-section measuring 4.9mm x 3.7mm. This end appears to be solid however slightly further down the length the appearance is suggestative of the item having been formed of a scrolled length of metal. The dimentions vary along the length constricting slightly before increasing again to a rectangular cross-section measuring 2.6mm x 3.4mm, after which the object tapers to a blunt point.

An incomplete copper-alloy numismatic item or button probably of later Post-Medieval to Modern date. Just less than half of the disc survives with a weight of 2.87g. The remains have a diameter of 27.5mm and thickness of 1.5mm. No decoration or marks are visible on either side of this incomplete disc.
