A group of 11 ceramic vessel sherds; 5 wall sherds, 3 base fragments and 3 rim fragments, probably of Roman date, AD 43 - 410. The fabric is soft, orange to light grey with a grey core throughout and a fine texture. The surface is covered in fine striations, probably as a result of the softness of the fabric. It has frequent, very small sand and mica inclusions with occasional pieces of black iron ore. The rims are all the same shape, but appear to be from different vessels. A group of 24 wall sherds of ceramic vessel probably of Roman date, AD 43 - 410. The fabric is soft, dark brown with a grey core and irregular texture. It has frequent white probable limestone inclusions that are irregularly shaped and of variable size. There are also sparse large flint inclusions, and vesicles, probably where calcareous inclusions have dissolved. There is also abundant quartz and sand. This coarseware may be Huntcliffe ware. The sherds are of varying thickness, suggesting they are from different vessels.

A fragment of a copper alloy Roman bracelet dating from AD 200 - 400. It is a narrow, flat copper alloy band, probably broken at both ends, but very worn. One face is decorated. Two thirds of the surviving length has a herringbone type design, with a central longitudinal groove flanked by numerous oblique grooves. There is a transverse groove at each end of this section; at one end this is where the bracelet has broken, and at the other end, the sides of the bracelet curve inwards forming a notch at the groove. A copper alloy Roman Trumpet brooch dating from AD 75 - 175. It is of Mackreth TR group 1.a1. The brooch was found in two pieces by two finders. The main piece of the brooch is the whole bow and head, with just the spring, pin and foot missing. The brooch has a plain trumpet head, an acanthus button with four petals above and four below a central collar, and the moulding continues right round the bow. It is very thin copper alloy, with a white metal coating. One long edge is the original edge, and it suggests that the bowl was pear shaped, making it Crummy type 2. The other edges are all breaks. A copper alloy Roman spoon of Crummy type 1 dating from about AD 50 ā€“ 200. The spoon is incomplete with much of the bowl missing, but the shoulders suggest that the bowl was round, making it a Crummy type 1.
