Incomplete Late Iron Age to Early Roman copper alloy Colchester brooch with the lower part of the pin and much of the catchplate missing. The wings and the bow are undecorated. The bow, flat on the rear and slightly convex on the front, ends in a spike. Part of one aperture in the catchplate is evident but there may have been more. Weight 7.2g. Wingspan 10.5mm. A copper alloy Post Medieval (c.1620-1680AD) double-trapezoidal-loop buckle with missing pin. Lobed protrusion either end of strap bar. The upper face has a smooth feel and has bevelled edges, the lower face is flat and rough. The patina is dark green. Similar buckles are shown in Whitehead, R. An incomplete lead bag seal of Modern date AD 1880-1920. The bag seal is a cast disc with a bifurcated slot in opposed edges to function as a drawstring closure. One side of the seal bears a crown motif with WEBBS underneath and a legend TRADE [M]A[R]K / [REGISTE]RED around the circumference. A copper-alloy Bronze Age to Medieval copper-alloy awl 1250 BC-AD 1500. The find consists of four straight sides, each one plain, and rectangular in section. Its midpoint is bulbous and the awl tapers inwards terminating in rounded points at each end. Plain copper alloy awls are hard to date precisely but examples of this form are thought to have been introduced in the Bronze Age and they have barely changed throughout the centuries.
