Unidentified copper alloy probably medieval object, a square frame with all sides engraved with transverse grooves on one face. The other face is plain and stained with rust. There is a small smoothed area at or near the centre of each side on the decorated face. The object seems too delicate to be considered a strap distributor. It is not recent, and probably medieval. External dimensions 17.4 x 17.2mm. 13 x 13 internally. Thickness 1.9mm. Perhaps 13th - 15th century.

Two medieval copper alloy book fittings of Howsam 2016 Type A.7.1, both consisting of two rectangular sheet plates of the same size, secured by two rivets and with a central round hole. In both some decayed leather remains between the plates but does not appear in the central apertures. The gap between the plates in both examples is c.2mm. Incomplete medieval copper alloy folding strap clasp with all of the plate missing. The trapezoidal frame is composite, of thick sheet with a separate but fixed roller. The folding end is engraved with rocker-arm next to a bar-mount of solid pentagonal cross-section which must be attached with solder, there being no evidence of a rivet. 14 x 11mm. Distorted and incomplete medieval copper alloy rectangular buckle frame with a central bar. One corner is missing as a result of recent damage, along with almost all of the wire which would have been inlaid within longitudinal and transverse grooves on the edges. The surviving fragments of wire are of copper alloy. The distinct form, with its deep rabbets on the edges and its curved longitudinal profile, is a familiar one. The zoomorphic footplate is of a horse head, broken at the rear of the head behind two depressions reperesenting ears. A Medieval copper alloy strap loop dating from AD 1150 - 1450. It is stirrup-shaped with a collared knop (6mm) on its outer curved edge.The opposite side is flat 17mm long, 4mm wide and 1mm thick. The flat side has a central hole 1.2mm in diameter.The two longer sides are Plano-convex and slightly facetted. The loop is 23mm long, with the knop projecting a further 6mm.

A near complete copper alloy early-medieval harness link dating to c.11th century. The object is incomplete with only part of one oval loop surviving.. The original harness link would have consisted of two oval loops seperated by an axis bar but this is missing. The diameter of the internal loop is 14.9mm.
