A section of lead alloy water or drain pipe, possibly a plumbaria of Roman date. The pipe is 370mm in length, weighs 3.9kg and has a diameter of 60mm. It is made from a thick sheet of lead which has been rolled into a tube and has a butt seam along one side which does not appear to have been soldered. One end is flared out into a connection to a tank or basin with a maximum circumference of 205mm.
This object is comparable to an example of a drain pipe excavated from the Bothwelhaugh Roman Fort in Lanarkshire, Scotland.

An incomplete copper alloy Medieval bar mount dating c. AD 1230-60.
The mount is narrow and flat with a triangular point (6.4mm long) at one end adjacent to a circular rivet hole. The other end terminates in a worn transverse break. The upper surface is decorated in low relief with a moulded rectangular panel containing a saltire cross (13.10mm x 8.66mm) positioned 27mm from the aperture. The reverse has a narrow rectangular recess running the length of the plate terminating just before the aperture.

A fragment of a copper alloy Roman brooch, dating from AD 43-410. The brooch is very worn, and very little of the head remains, it is unclear if it was pin sprung or hinged.The bow is circular in cross section, and narrows towards the foot of the brooch. The brooch has a brown patina, with patches of green and measures 42.7mm in length, 7.5mm in width, and weighs 3.34g.

A late to post medieval, cast copper-alloy, asymmetrical buckle frame dating to c.1350-1700.
Description : the frame consists of a rectangular loop and a D-shaped loop formed by a narrowed central strap bar that has moulded knops to either side. Decoration is in the form of a single incised line on the outside edge of the rectangular loop and oblique incised lines either side of the central pin notch on the D-shaped loop. The reverse is plain and flat and the surface displays an even pale green patina.

Biface rough-out from a small piece of tabular flint, all edges have been semi-invasively hard hammer struck to form an irregular sub-trapezoidal plan, the flakes removed have revealed the central band of coarse inclusions at the centreline that most tabular flint has, it appears the rough-out was abandoned at this point. It may be that a chisel was the intention, but it is difficult to say for certain as it was never finished. This is comarable to Whittaker. J,C, (1994) biface reduction, stage 1, edged blank, page 208, fig. 8.24.

A complete medieval copper alloy thimble dating to c. AD 1500. The outside of the thimble has horizontal lines of circular indentations or drilled pits, these are irregular and only line up at the bottom of the thimble. Running around the lower edge of the thimble are two incised lines. The inside is undecorated. The open edge of the thimble is slightly worn and broken, and there's a couple of notches taken out of the edge. Thick and stout end scraper in fresh condition, made from a tertiary hard hammer struck flake, of glossy black patinated flint with steep retouch to the distal end on the dorsal face. The platform carries three incipient hertzian cones, it seems it took three blows to remove this flake from the core causing a slightly odd bulb of percussion.
Lower Palaeolithic, 600,000 to 250,000. Given the site, probably the earlier date given.

A complete copper alloy Strap Fitting of Post-Medieval to Modern date (AD 1775- 1920). The object is an 'S'-shaped belt hook. The hook is in the form of a snake and would have hooked onto fitments at the end of the belt on a military uniform.
The snake's body is pointed-oval in cross-section and is moulded on both sides to emulate scales, chevron scales on the upper side, and transverse lines on the underside. The head tapers to a narrowed snout and has a linear moulded jaw and ovate eye.
The metal is brown in colour with a slightly pitted patina.

An incomplete copper alloy Seal Matrix of Medieval date (AD 1300-1400). The object is composed of a hexagonally faceted conical handle which tapers before expanding to form a perforated loop with a collar. At the base the matrix widens to accommodate the circular die which is engraved with a central large quatrefoil and central pellet. There is a linear inner circular border separating the inscription from the central motif. The outer edges are missing and abraded and therefore the inscription is illegible
