A distorted cast copper alloy forked spacer from a composite strap-end of medieval date (1300-1450 AD). The spacer has a circular frame, with a lozengiform collared projection, probably intended as an acorn knop, from the opposing end two triangular shaped prongs of a forked spacer project. Apart from the acorn knop it is undecorated and finished with deep file scratches. The knop is thicker than the rest of the flat frame. The forked spacer is a mid grey-green colour with an even but abraded patina which covers all surfaces. A series of diagonal filed marks are present on both faces …

It is a disc, 27.0mm in diameter and 1.6mm thick, with openwork voids arranged in two concentric sub-circular rings, and four extant bosses on one face. The coin has been rubbed smooth and bent into an S-shape, indicating it has been used as a love token. The coin is illegible. Measurements: It is 20.8mm in diameter, 0.86mm thick and weighs 2.08g. Medieval copper-alloy buckle frame and plate. The frame is D-shaped internally, with a narrowed and offset bar and an expanded, sub-triangular outside edge. A very slightly recessed band runs longitudinally (in line with the missing pin) along the centre of the outside edge on the front face. An incomplete cast copper alloy guard from a small-sword or dress sword of late post medieval date c. AD 1650 - 1800. Approximately half the guard survives; it is an irregular oval shape and slightly convex in side profile. On the internal edge are the remains of a rectangular slot through which the tang of the blade passed. It is across this slot that the hilt guard is broken. It is formed of a single sheet of metal, cut and hammered into a pointed-oval cross-sectioned tube, closed at one end and open at the other, with two longitudinal seams running opposite each other along the pointed arrises.
