Incomplete medieval gilt copper alloy flat-backed mount: a fleur-de-lis with a round hole, perhaps for attachment, in the central petal, sits above a rectangular boss. Below this the object widens, with two half-round cut-outs in the upper edge, and the sides descend in parallel past a central iron-filled attachment hole to an old transverse break. The divisions between the petals on the lis are emphasised by two V-sectioned filed grooves. Only a few specks of gilding have survived. Extant length 46mm. Width 21.6mm. Thickness 2 - 2.5mm. Thickness at boss 5mm. 13th - 15th century.

The loop is solid and not folded. A commonly occurring type e.g. Ashley 2002, nos.38 & 84-5). Width 10mm. Height 19.7mm. 13th - 14th century.

Copper alloy hooked strap fitting of Medieval to Post Medieval date. The fitting consists of a narrow rectangular plano-convex body with two robust and integral rivets on the reverse. The body extends to a substantial rearward facing hook that tapers to a semi-circular blunt point. The robust construction of the fitting is perhaps more suggestive of a harness application. Circa AD1300-1600.

Medieval sheet copper alloy 'shield-shaped' strap end with a rounded notch on each side, two rivets and circular roves and a bar-mount of arched cross-section (Egan and Pritchard 1991, 156-8). The rounded inside edge may have lost a point. Decayed leather survives around the shanks of the rivets. Length 15mm. Width 11mm. Bar-mount 5.4 x 11mm. c.1270 - c.1450.

Post Medieval to Modern white metal pot mend from a large metal or ceramic vessel. It is sub-triangular in plan. In profile and section there is a noticeable rounded stepped lip on the smoother side. The other side has a roughly cast semi-circular ridge approximately 9mm high and 9mm wide. This produces a concavity that partially contains a circular perforation. This perforation (diameter 3mm) passes through the thinner part of the object at an angle. There are scoured lines that run the length of the perforation. Incomplete medieval tin-coated copper alloy brooch, part of a frame with a bird's head facing right and projecting between a pair of splayed wings decorated on the front face with lines of finely executed interrupted rocker-arm engraving giving the appearance of tiny addorsed triangles. On the other it is decorated with two central parallel ridges along its length. There are four annulets in line either side of these ridges. Dates to between c850 and c1100 AD. Incomplete, worn and corroded copper alloy Post Medieval decorative strap fitting or mount, cast in the form of a petalled rose. Several petals have their outside edges eroded away. On the reverse vestiges of small attachment prongs remain. Read, B. illustrates similar single stud and double pronged mounts on p32 to 34 of Metal artefacts of antiquity: A catalogue of small finds from specific areas of the United Kingdom,(2001). Circa AD1600-1700.
