A Medieval to Post medieval ceramic tile fragment, probably a peg tile dating from AD 1250 -1900. The fabric is hard, and has a fine texture. It is dark grey throughout. There are frequent, quartz inclusions and frequent spherical voids of varying size, perhaps from oolitic limestone. One face is smooth and the other is sanded. One edge is original and the others are breaks. There is part of a circular peg hole in the centre of one broken edge. The hole has a diameter of 11.5mm. The sherd is 48.4mm long, 45.4mm wide and 18.4mm thick. 33g.

A Medieval ceramic vessel fragment, a wall sherd, dating from AD 1200 -1500. The fabric is hard, and fine textured, possibly vitrified. It is cream coloured throughout. There are sparse, very small inclusions, mainly black flecks and occasional areas about 3-4mm long, with parallel lines along the length. These are perhaps impressions from straw or chaff, though they do not appear o be voids, or are perhaps pieces of stone. Both faces have a buff yellow glaze. The outer face is decorated with a shallow horizontal groove. The sherd is 57mm tall, 36.4mm wide and 7.9mm thick. 20.9g.

There are sparse inclusions, mainly rounded black (iron ore?) with occasional quartz. the handle is oval in cross-section and is fluted on the outer face. It varies is colour from orange on the surfaces to dark grey in the core. The inclusions are frequent poorly sorted angular quartz and possibly feldspar. The handle thins and widens at one end; the start of the attachment area. It is otherwise oval in cross-section, but with the ridge along one long edge on the reverse. The texture is irregular to laminated and part of one face is rough, possibly from being placed on a sanded surface before the clay dried. There are frequent poorly sorted grog and grit inclusions including white stone pieces and some large (>4mm) pebbles and pieces of grog. There are also small pieces of quartz. The sherd is 70mm long, 49mm wide and 16mm thick. 69g.
