A fragment of a Roman copper alloy bracelet or armlet dating to c AD 320-450. It appears to be a mid-section piece, with early breaks at both ends. The band is D shape in section. The extant outer face of the bracelet is decorated with transverse ridges with a central circumferential incised line ('cogwheel'). Beyond that, in relief, large annulets are at intervals around the band, offset from one another, with a zig-zagging 'ribbon' of smaller annulets running between and under them. An incomplete Roman copper alloy brooch, dating to perhaps c AD 50 - 200 of Proto-headstud type. of Mackreth 2011, Proto HDST 1.c, distributed in the south-west.. The spring and pin are missing. The wings, in this case C shaped in section with mouldings, would support the spring which would be attached via the lug. Incomplete copper alloy penannular brooch of an enamelled zoomorphic F1 Type. The frame of the penannular is D-shaped in cross-section and decorated with a series of closely packed transverse lines. The terminal is an expanded triangle that has a highly decorated top surface forming the stylised head of a beast. A cast copper-alloy ring of a type often suggested to be medieval or post-medieval harness rings (Geake, 2001, Finds Recording Guide, page 74), dating from AD 1200 - 1800, though they are typically undiagnostic. Further, Geake (ibid., 74) suggests that the broadly hexagonal cross-section which this ring is, probably indicates a medieval date, it has a dark grey green patina with very clear what look like file marks on all faces. A complete copper alloy openwork unidentified artefact, of Late Early Medieval (Viking) dating (AD 900 to AD 1100).
