A fragment of a copper-alloy, P-shaped, divided bow brooch of Roman date, AD 175 - 250. Only part of the head and bow have survived. The head of the brooch is a horizontal cylinder, open at the reverse, containing the axis bar and spring. There is no visible decoration. Only two moulded projections survive of the bow, these are now broken and worn to a rounded stub. The break is patinated. The brooch has a dark brown patina. A lead hollow die cast miniature horse head. Probably made between 1883 and 1966. Manufacture of hollow die cast toys started in the UK in 1883 and ceased in 1966 due to the toxicity of the metal. The features of the horse are clearly visible and the bridle and reins are shown. There is a pierced sub circular hole on the upper head between the eyes approx. 1mm in diameter. The object has a dark grey green patina. The head appears to have been broken off from another part. Width from rear of base of neck to tip of nose 25mm. Height from base of neck to tip of ear 20mm. An unusual cast copper alloy brooch, probably dating from the Middle Iron Age. The brooch is form from an arching bow that has a head and foot plate at either end set perpendicular to the bow forming a simple H-shape. The bow is decorated with a raised beaded border on each sided, which flank two rings formed from seven pellets. Both the head and foot plates have expanded terminals with decorated edges. A fragment from a coarseware medieval vessel, probably a pear shaped jug, dating to c. AD 1350-1500. The fragment comprises the handle and part of the inner surface of the vessel. The fabric is orange in colour, with a glaze applied that gives the areas where the glaze survives a more buff coloured appearance. Complete cleaver, of Wymer’s type H (Wymer. J, J, 1999) in slightly rolled condition with a small amount of recent damage to some of the edges, now patinated gloss black with areas of orange mottles from uneven exposure to iron oxides, the coarse inclusions have also picked up this colour.
