A Post-Medieval copper-alloy strap fitting for a sword belt, dating to c. AD 1600 - 1650. This example is composed of the plate, which tapers from the top to the hook. Attached to the hook is a copper alloy ring. The ring has only been crudely finished with a fragment of copper alloy attached where it was attached to the adjoining ring during the manufacturing process. The upper edge of the plate has a pronounced curved projection at each corner. The plate is slightly plano-convex. There are two holes in on a vetrical axis in the centre of the plate. An almost complete Post Medieval copper alloy openwork lozenge-shaped quatrefoil mount dating from AD 1600 - 1700. The mount has cross-openwork with rounded terminals. Above the upper and lower arms is a triangular extension, one more thinner than the other. There are the remains of two fixing rivets on the back, and the mount has a green/brown patina. The mount is 32.36 mm long, 19.56 mm wide and 2.00 mm thick. It weighs 3.03g. Compare SWYOR-687223, PUBLIC-6FD3C3, SUR-6E52D0, NMS-412A28 and DEV-E25157, though none are exactly the same.
