A cast copper alloy button dating from the early Post Medieval period, about 1450-1600. The solid head is biconvex in form, and there is an integral flat shank which terminates in an attachment loop; the loop is broken in this example. The object has a length of 10.26mm, and a diameter of 9.92mm. It weighs 1.85g. Similar buttons are illustrated in Bailey, (2004), p. 29, and are attributed to the Tudor period.

It has one smooth edge resembling the rim of a vessel or bowl, while the other edge is broken unevenly with a groove running along the length as if it were hand-made from a sheet of metal bent over to form the rim, rather than cast. The concave side is fairly smooth, while the convex side shows some corrosion. One broken end is roughly arrow-shaped, the other broken end is thinner, being 10mm wide, than the main part of the fragment at 16mm. These were often cast in rows, and this example has a slightly flattened rougher area to one edge, and a slightly raised area on the opposite edge. Although file markings on both faces show that the ring has been finished to some extent, residual casting excess on a section of the internal edge suggest that finishing was perfunctory. A fragment from a cast copper-alloy knobbed bracelet (bangle or armlet) probably dating from the late Hallstatt period to the late Iron Age (c. 800 BC - 43 AD). Ovate handaxe in fairly rolled condition, of Wymer J,J (1999) type K, of very dark brown patinated flint with lighter brown coarse inclusions within the flint, recent damage to parts of the edges show the original colour of the flint to have been black with grey inclusions. Both faces are entirely modified by invasive semi-soft hammer flake removals, confidently struck with flake scars overlapping in the centre, no trace of the original surface of the "blank" for this piece remain. A nearly complete cast copper alloy casket key of Medieval date (c. 1100-1500 AD). The bow is a simple circle joined to the stem by a moulded collar. The end of the stem is hollow and is partially broken. The bit is a simple single ward separated from the stem by two clefts and a moulded transition between stem and bit. The key is missing much of its original surface and is green in colour.
