Copper alloy strap end that is made from a long tapering, rectangular cross-section rod. The main body is undecorated and gently tapers to the forward edge which is decorated with a moulded animal facemask comprising of a narrowed snout that has a horizontal slot of the terminal for the mouth and two sets of angled groves on the top of the snout forms the nostrils and eyes respectively. An almost complete, cast, copper-alloy medieval buckle and plate. Oval frame with an off-set bar and ornate outside edges consisting of two knops with a rectangular element with three bands between them. The pin is partially broken, the lack of moulded detail could indicate a folded sheet that was wrapped around the pin bar. The rectangular plate tapers very gently from max 14.97 mm in width to 12.13 mm. Fragment of a medieval copper-alloy buckle. Only the expanded and ornate outside edge and two short stubs of the frame sides survive. The outside edge has two lobed knobs flanking a central constriction, about which is wrapped the remnant of a sheet copper alloy roller, partly lost to corrosion. Comparable to Egan and Pritchard (2002), No. 301, but much smaller. Late 13th to 14th century. Length (including frame side stubs): 21.5mm. Length of expanded outside edge: 19.6mm. Width (outside edge only): 5.5mm. Thickness (outside edge): 5.3mm. Weight: 2g.

An incomplete copper alloy possible 'chess piece' style furniture fitting of dating to the Roman period (c.AD 43-410). The fitting takes the form of a chess pawn, with a rounded knop at the upper terminus followed by two widened sections in the middle interspersed with waisted sections. The lower waisted section widens to a flat base which would likely have affixed to a box or an item of furniture. No decorative markings are apparent on the fitting.
