An incomplete cast copper alloy Colchester derivative Polden Hill type brooch of Roman date (AD 80-120). The wings are complete with flat and pierced end caps. The axis bar, spring and pin are all lost. A small section of spring was recovered and is now separate; it comprises four corroded turns / coils around a fragment of iron axis bar. The external chord of the spring would have been held by the abraded rearward facing hook positioned at the midpoint on the upper edge of the reverse. An incomplete ceramic Roman tegula dating to the period c. AD 43 – 410. The roof tile is sub-rectangular in plan, with a L-shape cross section. The remaining right-angled flange has a finished bevelled end and a flat top. The cutaways used to overlap adjacent tiles when fitted are missing. The depth of the flange is 18mm and the thickness (measured near the edge) is 16.61mm. The fabric has a layered structure and is orange/red in colour throughout, indicating an oxidised core. A ceramic Roman Lowther's Group 5 and Betts Die 12, relief-patterned flue-tile fragment, dating AD 150-AD 200. A similar tile is illustrated in Betts et al (1997:62 Fig.27j). The fabric is oxidised red with numerous sand and flint inclusions. The front is decorated with relief-patterned rolled design in the "Diamond and Lattice" group style. A cast, copper alloy dress hook from the early Post Medieval period AD 1550 - 1625. The object is triangular in form , moulded in one piece. It has an open, trapezoidal shaped loop sitting above a sub-rectangular, convex boss showing a 'cherub's' head. An incomplete copper alloy strap fitting or belt mount of probable Post Medieval date (c. AD 1500-1700). The object is sub-oval in plan with a rounded knop projecting from the right hand edge. The face curves outwards slightly and the reverse curves inwards to mirror this. On the reverse is a circular-sectioned integral attachment lug, with a rounded terminus. Any decorative elements have since worn away. The object has a dark brown patina. The dimensions are as follows: 19mm in length and 11mm in width.

A pierced Post Medieval silver coin; a half groat of Charles I (AD 1625 - 1649), Group A, cross calvary initial mark dating from AD 1625 - 1626. Tower mint. See North number 2248 on page 161 of North Volume 2 (1991). The coin is 16.36mm diameter, and weighs 0.83g. The coin is perforated at about 10o'clock on the obverse, just inside the legend. The hole was probably made from the reverse, but there appears to be displaced metal on both faces.
