A complete copper alloy buckle dating to the post medieval period, c. AD 1660-1720.
The buckle is double looped, with a possibly iron central bar that has corroded more significantly than the copper alloy frame, pin and plate. The loops are oval in shape, while the bar appears rectangular, flattened in cross section. Attached to the bar is a flattened plate, which divides into two terminals where it adheres to the frame, creating a Y shape. The pin is triangular in shape and flattened in cross section, tapering to a very sharp point.
