Core, or possible chopper (Wymer 1999, type A) in slightly rolled condition, of mottled black and grey flint now patinated orange/black and brown with orange and brown thin cortex to one face with a "healed crack" evident as a step in the surface and contiues through the flint as black line. Roman hardstone pebble-back apotropaic cameo, depicting the 3/4 facing Gorgoneion head of Medusa. The cameo is white through to bluish grey in colour with polished facial features that become less well rendered going backwards towards the snake-like hair that envelops the head. The rear of the cameo is in an as-cut condition and a groove has been made around the entire periphery in order to facilitate mounting. Probably fashioned from layered nicolo onyx, a chalcedony quartz stone.

Medieval copper-alloy strap-fitting. It consists of a narrow sub- rectangular strip, which is bent double but would originally have been straight. The long sides are parallel, but one is longer than the other because each end has a corner cut off. There are three copper-alloy rivets in-situ: one in the centre and one at each end. The centre one and one of the end ones each hold a separate smaller, sub-rectangular plate. The central plate is the largest of the two. An incomplete Medieval to Post-Medieval copper-alloy mount dating from the period circa 1400-1700 AD. The mount is leaf shaped in plan and trapezoidal in cross section. Its edges are bevelled and fluted. The plate contains sub-oval shaped perforation (2mm in diameter) through the centre. On the underside there are two integral circular-sectioned attachment rivets. One of the attachement rivets has broken and only a short stump remains whilst the other is intact but bent and distorted. The artefact has a predominantly red-brown patina with patches of green.
