A Post-Medieval copper-alloy livery button, dating to AD 1820 - 1900. It measures 24.3 mm in diameter and is slightly convex with a soldered copper wire loop at the rear. The design on the front is of a bird, probably a dove, standing facing left on a cushion, and the button was formerly gilded as traces remain on both sides. The backmark has 'WARRANTED' over crossed laurel branches circling the loop. The bird may be a Cornish Chough and the family Hartley.

A complete copper alloy strap fitting of the post medieval period, dating from AD 1500-1700. The front face is convex and moulded and the form is in a flower (daisy like) with two leaves and a short curved stem. There are traces of gilding in the recesses in the design. The reverse is concave with two projecting fixing studs, one at each end. These appear to be either integral spikes, or separate rivets soldered to the reverse. An incomplete post medieval, cast copper-alloy trapezoidal buckle, c.1570 – 1700. Description: The remaining half of the frame is bevelled on both the inside and outside edges, with lobed knops on either side of the central bar. The reverse has moulded, grooved channels along the centre of the frame. Measurements: Length - 17.6mm, width – 24.1mm, thickness – 2.2mm and weight – 4g Discussion: This common buckle type is reported extensively on the PAS database and a number of examples are illustrated in Whitehead (2003), page 82, no. 507.
