Incomplete Iron Age or Romano-British cast copper alloy tankard handle with one surviving integral attachment plate. The handle is D-shaped when viewed from the side. It's convex on the inside while the outside has a central longitudinal rounded ridge with concave sides. The attachment plate is oval and (assuming for convenience that this is the top plate) the handle joins it on the bottom half. An incomplete cast iron openwork scabbard chape of probable Late-Medieval to the Post-Medieval date. Description: The chape is roughly U-shaped with openwork on the front and reverse sides. There is a circular knop at the base and from there the sides angle outwards forming a V-shaped lower part. The sides edges are nearly vertical. There is damage to the upper edge on both sides. The colour is dark brown with orange corrosion along the inside of the chape sides and small portions around the outside. Part of a post medieval buckle. One outer edge of the frame remains and has a central trefoil knop. There are 2 ovoid knops on the angles of the frame, which lead to stumps of the outer edges of the frame.There is a brown/green patina. The reverse legend reads RE[---]and surrounds the image of a plough, all within a raised circular ring. The seal is in 20.1mm, diameter, thickness: 5.8mm and weighs 12..04g. Lead bag seal. Cast disc with a slot in one edge and a bifurcated slot in the opposite edge, to function as a drawstring bag closure. One side bears the stamped motif of a cornucopiae, with the legend TRADE MARK. The other side bears a circumferential legend: [ ]ANG CONTINENTAL [ ] OND, and the horizontal legend: LATE. Early Medieval (11th century) harness fitting: harness link. The copper alloy link consists of an incomplete loop and an arm. The arm is D-sectioned and terminates with a incomplete lozenge shaped loop. The complete corner of the lopo has a integral knop on the exterior as decoration. These breaks are not recent. The surface of the fitting is heavily abraded and has a matte red-brown surface. It measures 24.6mm long, 21.63mm wide across the loop and 4.95mm thick across the arm. It weighs 5.79g. Trade tokens were issued between 1648 and 1672 at a time when there was little low denomination coinage being issued by the crown. A fragment of a copper-alloy buckle of Medieval date, c.AD 1450 -1550. The buckle is a single looped D-shape. The strap bar and pin are both missing. There is a series of transverse grooves on the outer loop giving a rope-work appearance and it terminates in a knop. The pin no longer remains. The metal has a brown and green patina and is worn and corroded. Similar but not identical to Whitehead R (2003) p.25 No 122 Measurements: 29.0 mm long x 24.0 mm x 12.0 mm thick

Post Medieval (late 16th to early 17th centuries) strap fitting, in the form of a hook. The copper alloy fitting has an inverted triangular body, with rounded edges and a wide 'V' along the upper edge. The body has a circular rivet hole. In the rivet hole there is the traces of an iron rivet. The lower tip of the triangular body is narrowed before forming an integral hook by being curled towards the reverse.
