A Medieval copper-alloy annular buckle pin or possibly a brooch pin (c. 1350-c. 1400).
The tapering shaft is sub-square in cross-section with rounded corners and the open loop is similar in cross-section. On the upper face, between the shaft and loop, a moulding has four parallel transverse ridges.
This pin has a green patina and is corroded in places.
Length: 47.4mm; width: 12.7mm; thickness: 3.2mm. Weight: 4.51g.
A similar buckle pin from archaeological excavations in London has been dated c. 1350-1400 (Egan and Pritchard 1991: 116, fig. 75, ref: 547).

An incomplete Roman copper alloy Colchester Polden hill brooch, probably dating to c. AD 75-175. The brooch is missing it's pin, the terminal of its foot and the catchplate. The head of the brooch survives and the wings are oval, with an open reverse and each wing terminating in a perforated oval wing cap. The bow projects from the head and has a shallow D-shaped cross section with convex front and flat reverse.

An incomplete copper alloy trumpet brooch of the Roman period, about AD 75-175. The majority of the bow survives, along with the catchplate, the foot, and head. Most of the pin is missing, but a small piece still remains in the single perforated lug on the reverse. The acanthus moulding is flanked by raised circular collars and is flat on the back from which projects a sub-triangular catchplate. The foot is circular and flat with an upper collar.

The acanthus button has three petals above and below. The head of the brooch is decorated with red, yellow and blue enamel. The rear of the head also shows signs of blue enamelling, and there is a single perforated lug on the reverse. The foot is conical with a pellet on the base.

A fragment of a copper alloy Middle Bronze Age dirk (small rapier) dating to the period c.1500 - 1150 BC found in 2 adjoining pieces. The break between the two pieces is probably recent and reveals a slightly purple crystalline matrix with many air bubbles. The edges of the breaks are not abraded but crisp. The butt is a slender trapezoidal with two rivet holes across the lower edge. There is a copper alloy rivet within each rivet hole. Damaged silver Post Medieval groat of Mary. Initial mark pomegranate, London (Tower) mint. North 1960. AD1553-1554. The coin is severely cracked across its centreline suggesting it may have been folded when found and straightened post recovery. If this is so the accuracy of the fold suggests it possibly entered the ground as a religious invocation.

A cast copper alloy strap slide, or strap loop, dating from the Medieval period, about AD 1270-1350. The frame is D-shaped, and the curved outside edge is of D-section and bevelled, while the bar, which is not narrowed, is of rectangular section. The bar has an integral, external, centrally positioned rivet of oval section. The object has a length of 17.65mm (including the external rivet), a width of 19.64mm, and a thickness of 2.91mm. It weighs 1.85g. Compare Egan and Pritchard (2002) no. 1231, p. 230.

An incomplete, copper alloy, headstud brooch of Roman date, about AD 75 - 200. The brooch is largely intact and has open semi -circular cross sectioned wings that are incised on the front. The spring is missing. Its rectangular cross sectioned bow has a raised circular 'stud' at its shoulder and below is a large triangular inset that still has some yellow enamelling present. The foot and catchplate are missing.

The frame is trapezoidal with a slightly thickened, wider and D-sectioned outside edge, and a thinner, narrower, rectangular-sectioned bar. The bar has a hole for a central separate rivet, which is missing. The object has a length of 13.76mm, a width of 16.28mm, and a thickness of 4.46mm. It weighs 1.98g. A Roman brooch of Colchester derivative, Headstud (tubular hinged wings), cf. Mackreth 2011, Type 10. Plate 73-4, AD c. 60-400. The copper alloy brooch is incomplete. The wings are tubular, although incomplete and has a vertical slot in the centre. The axis bar and pin is missing. Integral to the upper edge of the wings there is an integral, trace of a head loop. Early Early-Medieval (late 5th to 6th centuries) saucer brooch made from gilded copper alloy. It is sub-circular and has abraded and incomplete edges. There is an incomplete lipped edge which is obliquely angled outwards. The front of the brooch is decorated with high-relief Style I animal motifs that are degenerate and are spiralling around a central undecorated boss. The motifs are formed by triple-stranded curved blocks all within a high-relief border with transverse grooves. The angled rim has a fine linear groove running around the base.
