An incomplete Roman copper alloy hinged Durotrigan Type (strip bow) brooch dating to the period c. AD 43 - 70. The majority of the brooch's bow survives although its head is very fragmentary, and it is missing its foot, catchplate, and pin. The head of the brooch projects backwards from the bow in a sub-rectangular plate which is incomplete and has a central slot cut into the edge. This section would have been curled to form a cylinder, but the fragment remaining is straightened with creases. Probably Post Medieval (1550-1650 AD) copper alloy double loop asymmetrical buckle frame: The buckle has a sub-rectangular loop and the second is a D-shaped loop. This D-shaped loop is an expanded moulded scallop with two circular perforations. Around the central strap bar there is a corroded iron pin. The outer bar of the sub-rectangular loop is expanded in width and length and the outer face is decorated with obliquely angled grooves. This surface has patches of gilding. The ventral surface is concave with a small bulb of percussion situated at the proximal end with slight ripples. The dorsal side has flake scars and either long side have fine, short, abrupt, parallel retouch. The distal end has been knapped into a point with retouch on both the ventral and dorsal sides.
