An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy spoon (c. 1700-c. 1800). The stem is missing. The bowl is sub-oval and is wider near the shoulders. It has patches of a white metal coating on the interior and exterior. There is a break on the rim and also where the stem joined. Length: 71.0mm; width: 38.4mm; thickness: 8.3mm. Weight: 21.14g. A complete copper alloy sword belt fitting dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1600-1700). The fitting is comprised of two components: a zoomorphic hook attached to an asymmetrical plate. The plate is oval in plan with an integral rectangular suspension loop at its apex. At the lower end of the plate is a further, smaller integral loop through which the S-shaped hook is attached. The plate is slightly convex. The hook has swan-headed terminals at either end, with a central rib and wing-like motifs on the front and reverse in moulded relief. Incomplete Early Saxon copper alloy wrist clasp eye plate. Hines 1993 Form B12. Part of the loop or eye is missing and three lugs on the rear edge survive only as stumps. The breaks are neither fresh nor ancient. The main part comprises three flat square bosses conjoined by two narrower bars decorated with longitudinal ribs and grooves. The front edge is canted downwards with the result that underside is hollowed. Weight 2.70g. Extant length 10mm. Width 28.7mm. Late 5th - mid 6th century.
