Object type: SPUR
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: Norfolk
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Incomplete post-medieval gilt copper alloy [prick] spur. The sides are of triangular cross-section and both are badly distorted. One is far from complete and the other runs to a obliquely set figure-of-eight terminal, one aperture of which is filled with rust from an attachment. There are two small projections at the junction of the side and terminal, cf. BH-62C484. The neck survives only as a triangular-sectioned stump below a low rectangular boss. Distortion prevents an assessment of the length. Width of sides at the crest 14.3mm. Width of side next to terminal 6mm. 17th century.

Broad period: MEDIEVAL
County: Norfolk
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Medieval gilt copper alloy strap end made from one piece of thick sheet folded widthways and secured by five convex-headed rivets. There is a gap at the fold but it is narrower (c.1mm) than those shown on Egan and Pritchard 1991, fig. 104.
