A Roman copper alloy sestertius of Marcus Aurelius dating to the period AD 168 - 69 (Reece 8eriod 8). [TR POT XXII / XXIII IMP V COS III] S C, Aequitas, draped, seated left on low seat, holding scales and cornucopiae. Minted at Rome. RIC III, pp. 290, cf. nos. 960 and 969 / 970. If there is drapery on the bust, it is probably RIC 970.

An incomplete copper alloy buckle of the medieval period (1300-1500).
A "disc-on-pin" type buckle, although missing its pin. The double looped buckle frame is circular in shape and D-shaped in cross section, with two extended knops and the central bar. The bar is encased within a trapezoid plate, composed of a single piece of metal bent around the frame and secured at its unconnected end with a circular rivet. An incomplete and misshapen Medieval copper-alloy buckle (c. 1200-c. 1400). Meols Type 2.
The narrowed of-set bar and the pin are missing.
The frame is 'D'-shaped in plan. It has a swollen outside edge and is bevelled internally at the rear.
The frame is green with traces of a green patina.

A complete gold annulet mount with filigree decoration from the post medieval period c. AD 1450-1600.
The object is circular in plan, rectangular in cross section and has a central hole. The front of the mount is divided into four equal quarters by a central square, which has small delineated triangles exaggerating its corners and marking out the divisions. It is further decorated with a pattern of 12 annulets made of twisted gold wire placed in a circle formation. Three of these appear in each of the four quarters. An incomplete cast copper alloy Colchester derivative, with rear hook type Roman brooch
The axis bar, spring and pin are lost. The spring was probably formed of copper alloy wire which was held in place by an external cord which is fixed to the rearward facing hook positioned at the midpoint on the upper edge of the reverse.
The head of the brooch bow is hump like - being comma shaped in profile. The bow is D shaped in cross section. It extends to a broken edge on the lower bow.

A cast copper-alloy annular buckle c.1350-1650. Round frame, 19.9mm diameter, with D-shaped loops that have slightly bevelled inside edges and a narrowed strap bar of rectangular cross-section. Traces of black lacquer remain. Thickness 3.1mm and weight 3.3g.
Buckles of this form and size are difficult to date but a range from contexts spanning the mid 14th-mid 17th centuries are shown by Whitehead (1996, 44-45) and Egan and Pritchard (1991, 65-67).

A copper alloy post-medieval farthing Trade Token issued by John Sindriy, a grocer in Burford, Oxfordshire, dating to AD 1653. The Obverse bears the grocer's arms while the reverse has the initials S over I E - the E being for Sindriy's wife (name unknown). Sindriy is mentioned in the rent-roll of 1652 and paid tax on five hearths in 1662 and 1665. Norweb 3602b.
