A post medieval copper-alloy 4.2 gram bi-face round coin weight issued during the reign of James I dating to c.1603-25. Round in form being 16.9mm in diameter and thickness 2.5mm. Obverse: crowned bust of James I facing right with inscription I R M BRITAN Reverse: a large crown with XI / S in two lines beneath. Appears to show signs of fire / heat damage to parts of obverse face. Used to weigh the gold double crown / half unite coin.

Clipped silver post-medieval penny of Henry VIII, dating to 1530 - 1544 AD. Mint of Durham under Cuthbert Tunstall. C D by shield on reverse. Both legends illegible. The diameter of the coin is 15.0mm, the thickness is 0.52mm and it weighs 0.57g.

Silver post-medieval Henry VIII sovereign penny, dating to 1509 - 1526 AD. First coinage, minted at Durham under Bishop Thomas Ruthall. Inital mark is a lis, hEnRIC DI GRA REX AGL is the obverse legend and CIVI/TAS/DVR/RAm is the reverse legend, with TD by shield on the reverse. The diameter of the coin is 15.35mm, the thickness is 0.64mm and it weighs 0.77g.
