A silver Roman denarius of the Civil Wars, dating to the period c.AD 68-69 (Reece period 3). Minted in southern Gaul. As RIC I (2nd ed.), p. 213, no. 118
Obverse: FIDES / EXERCITVVM above and below Clasped right hands,
Reverse: CONCORDIA PRAETORIANORVM (in retrograde), Concordia standing left holding branch and cornucopia.
The clasped hands were used as a reverse on coins of Vitellius and this type of coin could possibly have been struck during his brief reign. The coin is in a very good condition with minimal wear on both faces, the striking is slightly off centre.
