A complete Medieval silver penny of Alexander III of Scotland (1249-1286). Second Coinage, c. 1280-1292. Class E2: incurved lettering on the obverse and 24 points on the reverse. Spink: 5056.
Obverse: +ALEXANDER DEI GRA; Crowned bust with sceptre left.
Reverse: REX/SCO/TOR/VM+; Long cross dividing the inscription with a mullet of six points in each quadrant.
Diameter: 19.0mm. Weight: 1.35g. DA=12:4.
