Cast copper alloy post medieval double loop buckle, incomplete and missing its pin. Two rectangular loops with a central bar, all of which are very narrow and fine in appearance and are ornately decorated with pointed trefoil knops at each corner and two double lobed knops at the centre of each bar. The upper and left of these knops are quite damaged and their form is difficult to ascertain, however it is very similar to the surviving examples and it seems likely they were the same shape. There is a slight suggestion of raised cast decoration on the bars themselves, but this is very f…

Cast copper alloy post medieval double loop buckle. The two loops come together to create a double oval frame, bisected by the central bar. The bar and to some extent the underside of the upper loops is marked by iron decay, suggesting the presence of an iron pin which is now missing. Of the two loops, one has been damaged, slightly flattened and bent inwards, giving the impression of a narrower void and thicker loop. The frame is flat in profile. It is similar in shape and form to Egan and Pritchards' number 332 (Egan and Pritchard 1991: 82). It is similar to NARC-432CF8 and NLM-…
