A Medieval copper alloy strap fitting, probably dating to c. AD 1100-1500. The fitting consists of a concavo-convex circular plate with rearward facing sharp hook projecting from one point. The vestigial remains of an integral rivet project from the reverse.
Dimensions: length 31.5mm; width 20.1mm; thickness 0.9mm; weight 4.01g.
It is difficult to date such an undiagnostic object with certainty, however a medieval date seems likely.

A copper-alloy sword-belt fitting dating to the later 16th or 17th century. It has a flat sub-trapezoidal body with a shaped lower edge and integral suspension loop protruding from the middle of the upper edge. It is decorated on the front with a shallow groove down either side, set in c. 2.9mm from the edge. The space between the groove and edge of the artefact is decorated with similar diagonal shallow grooves set approximately 2.4mm apart; four are present to each side. An incomplete post-medieval cast copper alloy belt mount dating to the 17th century.
Description: There were two iron rivets; the one in the narrow end is in situ, surrunded by corrosion; whereas the historical break is through the broader end rivet hole, the rivet is missing. The upper surface is convex in profile, and conical in plan, with the sides gently narrowing. The broader end is bulbous and greenish in colour, with two gutters transecting the surface, dividing it into three segments, ending at the narrower end in a knop. A Post-Medieval copper alloy clasp of Read's Early Post-Medieval type 5, probably dating to c. AD 1500-1700. The clasp comprises of a circular eye with a quadrelobed aperture, now worn to moreso resemble three-lobes. A circular attachment loop projects from the eye at 4 o'clock, at 12 a sub-rectangular plate. The latter is cast into the form of a seven-lobed leaf, with a tri-lobed terminal, with cast foliate decoration. The plate is perforated twice along the longitudinal median line, once at both ends, with the lower retaining iron corrosion.

Medieval cast copper alloy strap slide, c.1150-1400 AD. The slider consists of a single, trapezoidal loop with upwards curved upper and lower edges. There are a pair of opposed internal triangular projections about a quarter of the way up the sides of the frame. The sides of the frame are rectangular in section apart from the longer upper edge which has a rounded top. The longest side of the frame (the upper side) is 24.7mm long. It measures 22.2mm long on the bottom edge, 16.1mm wide and 2.6mm thick. It weighs 2.12 grams.
