A complete lead weight of unknown exact date, though could date between the Roman and Post Medieval periods (c. AD 43-1800). The weight is cylindrical in plan with an expanded body and has a central circular perforation running through the middle of the object.
Lead weights without any contextual information are difficult to date accurately due to their form and use remaining little changed from the Roman to Post Medieval period. Similar examples recorded on the PAS database include: BH-639BEA; HESH-CEA156; and NARC-F9F7EC.

A lead object with a fragment of bone embedded into it. The bone has been identified as a cattle or horse rib by Dr Umberto Albarella, Reader in Zooarchaeology at the University of Sheffield. The lead encases the bone very closely, suggesting it was poured molten over the bone, which was already excarnated (de-fleshed), and apparently broken - the lead has flowed along the fracture at one end of the bone.
