An incomplete post-Medieval lead alloy powder measure cap used for measuring a charge of gunpowder (c. 1600-c. 1700). Courtney 1988: 2, fig. 3.
This cap has vertical sides. The open end is damaged and the closed end is sub-oval in plan. The closed end has a pellet within an annulet at the centre. A casting seam can be seen on one of the broader sides.
One loop is intact and the other is missing.
This measure is grey.
