An incomplete post-Medieval lead alloy powder measure cap used for measuring a charge of gunpowder (c. 1600-c. 1700). Courtney 1988: 2, fig. 3.
This cap has vertical sides. The open end is damaged and the closed end is sub-oval in plan. The closed end has a pellet within an annulet at the centre. A casting seam can be seen on one of the broader sides.
One loop is intact and the other is missing.
This measure is grey.

A fragment of a post-Medieval silver head-dress pin of the 'bodkin type' (1600-1700). Treasure case no. 2018 T911.
The pointed end and the majority of the slot or loop are missing.
The pin tapers slightly in width and thickness from the stubs of the slot or loop to the break. At the stubs the width and thickness are 3.6mm x 1.8mm and at the break it measures 2.9mm x 1.5mm. The shaft is bevelled on its corners except for a small portion adjacent to the slot which is rectangular in cross-section. A complete post-Medieval copper-alloy palm-guard (c. 1600-c. 1800). Read Type VI, variant.
This palm-guard is circular, domed at the reverse and hollow on the front. The turned-up rim has two pairs of circular holes, diametrically opposed, close to the edge. The holes are at an angle of about 45° from the horizontal. The front has randomly distributed circular recesses of varying sizes.
