An incomplete cast copper-alloy bell shaped stud of Allason-Jones type 1 dating to the Roman period (c. AD 43-300). The stud consists of the upper sub-hemispherical, circular-sectioned, head only. The upper-surface, or face, of the hemisphere is slightly concave and slopes slightly from to the edges to a raised circular-sectioned boss in the centre. A silver coin of uncertain denomination and ruler. Probably 13th - 14th century. The coin is likely from a German state and the design appears ecclesiastical.
John Naylor, National Finds Advisor for Early Medieval and later coinage, states that it is always very difficult to pin these down without an adequate inscription surviving. The closest example which could be found at the time of recording was a Dünnpfennig of Eberhard I of Schwabe (1164-7), from southern Germany (Bayern) but the style here appears later.

A copper alloy roman nummus, dating from the reign of Emperor Magnetius. Obverse: bareheaded, draped bust right of emperor. Inscription: illegible. Reverse: Two standing victories facing one another, holding round shield like wreath, inscribed in the centre: VOT/V/M[VL]T [X] with supporting column. Inscription: VIC[TORIAE DD NN AVG ET CAE]. Mint: TR[P] (Trier). The overall condition of the coin is fine, though the obverse side has significantly more corrosion than the reverse.

Cast lead or lead alloy decorated spindle whorl of Roman to Post Medieval date (c. AD 1 - 1650), most probably of Medieval date (c. AD 1300 - 1550). The spindle whorl is sub-circular in plan and bi-convex in profile. Both the upper and lower faces have a cast rim around the exterior edge / rim. The central hole is broadly circular and has been cast / set slightly off centre. The diameter of the hole measures 9.3mm. The upper and lower faces have been decorated with cross-hatching in light relief. The spindle whorl is a light white cream colour with an even patina.

A complete lead alloy pilgrim's ampulla of Medieval date, c.AD 1350 - 1550. The body of the ampulla is circular and a flared, elongated rectangular neck extends from one edge of the body. A small fragmentary projection on one side of the body, where it meets the neck, might be the remnants of a suspension loop. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman nail cleaner with a moulded neck and shouldered blade, possibly dating from c.50-200 AD. The neck is horizontally ribbed with a series of beaded mouldings, on all surfaces. The blade of the cleaner is 'leaf' shaped, widening just below the shoulders, then narrowing to what would have been the two-pronged tip. The tip has broken off and is missing. Only part of the vertical groove at the bottom of the blade is evident on one side. The blade is flat and both sides are plain. The nail cleaner has a dark green patina.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman brooch of the 'Hod Hill' Type, dating to AD 43-100. The brooch has one vertical rib on the bow with a transverse groove below. The foot is lozenge shaped and then tapers towards a terminal, having 2 transverse ridges with a groove between them. At the head of the brooch the is the remains of a waisted and flattened terminal,which broadens towards the top and has an offset pin slot.
