Fragment of medieval gilt copper alloy rectangular openwork buckle plate broken across the apertures around both ends and lower side of the convex and hollow-backed centre which depicts a lion passant reguardant in low relief. Very similar to examples from Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire (CAM-8E7962, NMS-23FD98 and NMS-DFA309). Extant length 16mm. Extant width 12.5mm. Late 12th - 13th century.

Medieval copper alloy (with a high lead content) wheel pommel from a sword, Ward Perkins 1940, Type VIII. Decorated on both faces with a recessed cross with expanded terminals (cross paty), containing decayed traces of probable enamel. The cross paty (or formy) is associated with the military orders of Knights Templar and Hospitaller. Diameter or width 42mm. Length 38mm. Thickness 25mm. Upper aperture 10.5 x 6mm, lower aperture 17 x 9mm. Weight 140.93g. 13th-14th century.
