Silver finger ring dating from the Medieval period, c.1200-1400. The ring is inscribed on the outer face of its hoop with the Lombardic letters +A+G+L+A+A with each letter separated by a cross potent. The inscription has amuletic significance representing the words, translated from Hebrew: Atha Gebri Leilan Adonai, meaning 'Thou art mighty forever, O Lord'. It was invoked as a charm against fever during the Middle Ages. See O. M. Dalton, Catalogue of Finger Rings (London, 1912), pp.135-6. The coin is worn blank but has been modified on one side with a Latin cross crudely etched into it, presumably for devotional purposes. The coin is 25.06mm in diameter, 0.98mm in thickness and weighs 4.10g.

Description: A complete silver stud fastener. The object has a sub-circular discoid head from which a cylindrical shank projects from the centre of the base and completes in a rounded terminal. The shank appears to have been soldered to the head of the stud, with a circular plate acting as the fixing point between the head and the shank. The shank has been bent off-centre and the rounded terminal is worn and misshapen.
