An incomplete post Medieval silver plated copper alloy button dating from circa AD 1808 to 1829. The button is circular in plan, with a slightly convex front and slightly concave rear and is missing its shank or loop. The front has an image of a ship in full sail, beneath the Latin legend 'TUTUS IN UNDIS', which translates to 'Safe on the waves'. These are the crest and motto of Clan Wood. It is interesting to note that Mark Wood of this clan purchased Gatton estate in 1808 (it was sold after his death in 1829) and the button was found just outside the current boundary of the estate. …

A complete, Roman, copper alloy, phallic mount, AD.43-150. The mount is formed of a tapering shaft that is triangular in cross section. At the widest point of the shaft there are two opposed hemispherical knops, one upon either side to form the testes. An incomplete copper-alloy object of Unknown date, possibly a toilet article or needle (AD 43-1800). This undecorated object is misshapen, slightly convex on one side and flat on the other side. At one end there are the remains of an eye or loop and the opposite end has a transverse break. It has a uniform thickness throughout its length but its width tapers. At the eye, the width is 3.4mm and at the break it has a width of 2.0mm. The object has a green patina and the breaks are old. A post medieval copper alloy lozenge-shaped mount or stud with an integral spike on the reverse. The lozenge-shaped plate is convex on the obverse and probably concave on the reverse (it is filled with mud). The corners and sides are rounded, probably from wear. The spike is located centrally on the reverse and is bent over to 90 degrees. The front of the plate is very worn with perhaps traces of a large raised, moulded flower within a raised line border. Description: Incomplete late Roman silver Brancaster-type finger-ring of Gerrard & Henig’s (2017) Type 1B2. The rectangular bezel is raised, with a rectangular transverse perforation beneath filled with iron corrosion product which appears to have expanded and cracked the inner wall of the band.
