Obverse: FL CL IVILIA-NVS P P AVG, Pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right.
Reverse: VOTIS/V/MVLTIS/X within a wreath.
Mintmark: -//SLVG. Lyon Mint
As Hoxne no. 146; RIC VIII, p.195, no.227.
Condition is extremely fine, die axis is 6 o'clock, weight is 2.24g, diameter is 16.92mm

An incomplete post medieval cast copper alloy rectangular buckle dating to c.1600-1700. With just a portion of one loop remaining, the frame is rectangular in form with a deep D-shaped cross section being rounded on the top and flat on the bottom. A central moulded lobed protrusion forms a pin rest on the outer edge of the loop. The reverse is plain and flat. Would probably have once been a double looped buckle as illustrated in : Buckles 1250-1800, Page 79, No 486. Height 13.3mm, width 23.5mm, thickness 3.3mm and weight 3.6g.
