Copper alloy nail cleaner with moulded neck and shouldered blade. Cast implement with a circular top loop (with remaining copper alloy fixing loop attached to the circular top loop). A tall neck with four moulded ridges and leaf-shaped blade which tapers and the end, which is now missing and was probably originally bifurcated. It is 30mm long, 10mm wide, 3mm thick and weighs 2.71gms. Suggested date: Roman, A.D. 43-150.

An incomplete copper-alloy and gilded disc headed pin of Early-Medieval date, c.AD 700-900. The pin head is circular in plan and a circular sectioned pin shaft extends from its base before terminating in a blunt break. The front of the pin bears zoomorphic moulded decoration depicting a backward facing animal within a circular border. The head of the beast, with an open mouth and a dot for an eye, is at the top of the disc head, facing backwards. A heavily abraded copper-alloy Roman sestertius of Gordian III (AD 238-244), dating to the period AD 241-244 (Reece period 12). Probably IOVI STATOR, S C or IOVI STATORI, S C reverse type, depicting Jupiter standing front, head right, holding long sceptre and thunderbolt. Mint of Rome. Cf. RIC IV.3, p. 48, nos. 298a, 299a passim. This is probably a light sestertius rather than an as, which has a much smaller module. Measurements: 27.21mm in diameter, 3.38mm thick and 10.75g in weight.

An incomplete, Roman copper alloy spoon of Crummy 1983, type 1, AD50-200. The shallow circular bowl is 23mm in diameter and has a depth of 3mm. The spoon handle, which is circular in cross section and 1.5mm in diameter, has broken off leaving 10mm attached to the bowl. The spoon has a dark brown patina, with some reflective gold particles, possibly remnants of gilding, to the interior of the bowl. The spoon fragment weighs 4.05g.

Description: Post-medieval gold finger ring. The band is now slightly distorted and exhibits a transverse crack. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman brooch of the Colchester Derivative Rear Hook Type, dating to AD 43-70. The head has two semi-circular cross-sectioned wings; on the top edge of the head there is a fragment of the rear-facing hook.
