The strap-end consists of a sub-oval bifurcated plate tapering into a sub-rectangular zoomorphic terminal. The large end is decorated in Trewhiddle style, the fine detail is lost to abrasion. A fragment of a Medieval copper alloy, cast, annular brooch. The frame is about fifty per cent complete and there are old breaks at either end. It has three moulded knops and is missing its pin. The surface of the brooch is brown, with patches of green patina. Length 20.8mm. Width 12.1mm. Thickness (max) 2.8mm. Weight 1.06g. A similar example can be found in Hattatt (2000), p 382, number 1711.

Copper alloy nail cleaner with moulded neck and shouldered blade. Cast implement with a circular top loop (with remaining copper alloy fixing loop attached to the circular top loop). A tall neck with four moulded ridges and leaf-shaped blade which tapers and the end, which is now missing and was probably originally bifurcated. It is 30mm long, 10mm wide, 3mm thick and weighs 2.71gms. Suggested date: Roman, A.D. 43-150.

Neolithic flint discoidal 'thumbnail' scraper. Formed on a d-shaped secondary flake of translucent light-brown flint which has recortication on the dorsal face, with semi-abrupt parallel retouch all around the curved edge, and a striking platform at the proximal edge, with a subcircular area of surface loss emanating from it. The ventral face is convex with a prominent bulb of percussion. The scraper is 18.1mm long, 20.8mm wide and 5.8mm thick and the weight is 2.48g. Probably later Neolithic to early Bronze age in date, c.3000 - 1500BC.

A post medieval copper-alloy latten spoon knop probably dating to the period c. AD 1500 - 1600. The knop is of the seal top type with a flat top c.11.6mm in diameter. Below the top is a constriction, beyond which the spoon widens into a conical collar which tapers into a narrow collar. Below this, the spoon tapers further before expanding into a more elongated ball, which then narrows and expands again before tapering to terminate in an old break across the hexagonal sectioned stem. A complete copper alloy medieval annular buckle, dating to c. AD 1200-1300. The frame is circular in shape, and sub circular in cross section, the underside being flattened. The frame is decorated with three groups of two incisions and three groups of three incisions all equally spaced around the frame. There is no evidence of a pin bar. The copper alloy pin survives complete and moves freely around the ring. There is a slight green patina in places. The buckle is 18mm in diameter with a thickness of 2mm. The lack of restriction for the pin suggests this is a buckle rather than a brooch.

An almost complete neolithic stone axe-head of unidentified grey stone. The more pointed haft end shows patches of exposed cream-coloured cortex. An incomplete copper alloy T-shaped brooch dating to the Roman period (c. AD 50-150). The brooch has tubular wings at the head with a spread of 21mm. There is a central slot through the head for the pin. The axis bar and the copper alloy spring remain in situ.. The bow extends from the head and tapers from 6mm to 1mm down to the foot which has the remains of the triangular shaped catch plate. An incomplete, Roman copper alloy spoon of Crummy 1983, type 1, AD50-200. The shallow circular bowl is 23mm in diameter and has a depth of 3mm. The spoon handle, which is circular in cross section and 1.5mm in diameter, has broken off leaving 10mm attached to the bowl. The spoon has a dark brown patina, with some reflective gold particles, possibly remnants of gilding, to the interior of the bowl. The spoon fragment weighs 4.05g.

A Hod Hill variant copper-alloy Roman brooch circ AD43 to 75. The head is bent forward slightly, and is closer to the Aesica style of brooch, with ribbing running along the length. A small lug protrudes from the sides of the lower head, that is the bow end. The wings of the head are missing having been broken off. The bow footing is narrow and ribbed across its width, are more typical of Hod Hill type. The catchplate is incomplete, and the sprung pin is missing apart from a fragment visible at the head. Weight 6.5g, length 33mm, maximum width 15.6mm, thickness aprox 4mm.

A copper alloy late Roman single loop buckle, possibly of Hawkes and Dunning Type IA. The buckle is formed from a zoomorphic design of two dolphins () The buckle has a D-shaped frame with the outside edge formed of inward-facing dolphins with their mouths open holding an oval object in their jaws. Ring decoration forms the eyes. The dolphin bodies curve to terminate with their joining the narrow offset strap bar at a knop. The buckle is corroded and the pin is missing. Buckles such as these are believed to have been used by the military.

An incomplete Roman oval copper alloy plate brooch, with traces of gilding. The brooch, which is 33.1mm in length and 27.4mm wide, has a ridged surround to a 18.4mm long and 13.1mm wide central oval setting for an intaglio, glass or enameled decoration which is now lost. The surround has most of its gilt remaining. The rear has an intact catchplate and hinge mount for a now lost iron pin, the end of of which remains at the hinge. The rear has a green patina. 2nd-3rd century AD. Similar examples can be seen on p364 Hattatt (2000).

Incomplete Roman copper alloy brooch of Mackreth's (2011) Colchester Derivative Rearhook Type 5.i dating to the period c. AD 43 - 65. The C-shaped wings are plain, both the tips missing. On the interior are traces of solder which retains an impression from the missing spring. Projecting from the top of the head is the stub of the rearhook which is run down the upper bow to form a central ridge flanked by a ridge on either side. The button consists of a flattened spherical head and a flat shank that is sub-oval in shape and cross-section with a circular perforation towards the terminal. Both the head and shank are undecorated with a patchy dark green patina. The button measures 16.5mm in length and the head 11.4mm in diameter. The button weighs 4.8 grams. An cast copper-alloy buckle fragment, probably from a double loop oval buckle with moulded decoration on the loops, dating to the Post-Medieval period (c. AD 1550-1650). The fragment consists of part of the sub-oval-sectioned loop and the moulded pin rest decorated with two raised central ribs. The underside of the fragment has bevelled inside edges and is plain. The fragment measures 27.1mm in length, is 6mm in maximum thickness and weighs 4.2 grams. As Whitehead 1996, Buckles 1250-1800, p. 61, no. 360.

Medieval gilt copper alloy bar-mount for the suspension of a harness pendant . There are two rivet holes, both with copper alloy rivet, and at one end a pair of pierced lugs containing the remains of the iron spindle which would have held the pendant. The other end is lobed, traces of tranverse mouldings. Normally such mounts are horizontal (e.g. N. Griffiths in Clark 1995, 69, fig. 52 nos. 73-4) or are cruciform (ibid. no. 75). This vertical mount is an interesting variant, see a similar example from Florden (NMS-DCFB77). Length 24mm. Width 7mm. 4.5mm thick at loops. 13th - 14th century.
