Copper alloy coin. Possibly a Northumbrian styca, as kindly identified by the finder. The ?obverse conforms more closely to the suggested type (cf. Abramson 2006, page 131), but the ?reverse appears figurative rather than literate. Suggested date: issue of 800-867
?Obverse description: Central ?cross in circular panel; indistinct circumferential legend
?Reverse description: Central boss with the appearance of a left hand spiral radiating from it, with pellets between the curving rays
Diameter: 13mm, Weight: 0.79gms
