A complete cast copper-alloy harness fitting or mount, probably dating to the Medieval period (c. AD 1100-1400). The upper plate of the mount is hollow and shield-shaped with tapering edges. The lower plate is crescent shaped with four equally spaced circular knops projecting from the edges. The shield-shaped plate is decorated with three equally spaced horizontal lines and an unclear central globular motif.
