An incomplete lead alloy seal, probably part of an alnage seal of post-medieval date (c. 1525 - 1724). The object is one disc from a two or four disc set. It is circular with the stub of a 11 mm wide connecting strip protruding 5 mm from the edge. One side is stamped with a crown over three stars. The crown and stars were a very common motif on alnage seals, particularly London seals (Egan 1992, p 2).
