A complete copper-alloy Nuremburg jetton of Hanns Krauwinkel II dating to the period AD 1586 - 1635. Rose/Orb type. Mint of Nuremburg. Obverse: HANNS KRAVWINCKEL IN NVR around alternating crowns and lis with central rose. Reverse: GOTTES GABEN SOL MAN LOB (One should praise God's gifts) around Imperial Orb within tressure of three arches. A similar jetton can be seen in Mitchiner, p.440, no.1535. Ref: Mitchiner, M. A slightly worn late Medieval copper alloy French jetton probably dating c.1478-1497. Mitchiner (1988, 230) No. 704, mint of Tournai? Obverse: Arms of France (modern), shield with three fleur-de-lis in two lines. Legend: '+AVE MARIA GRACIA', initial cross patee in saltire. Reverse: triple stranded straight cross rosetty, in tressure of four arches. on internal cusps a 'rose', trefoil of pellets in outer angles. There is no reverse legend. Diameter 28.2mm, thickness 1.0mm and weight 4.0g.
