Copper alloy and steel buckle. Cast sub-rectangular copper alloy frame with rounded corners and expanded outer edges which project slightly into the loop, with a separate steel chape with two spikes, now heavily corroded. The marked curvature of the frame viewed in profile may suggest a function as a knee buckle. A grey tint may arise from tin in the metal mix. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1720-1790. Copper alloy sword belt fitting. Cast trapezoid plate with a lightly engrailed top and a constricted and more markedly engrailed lower end from which projects an integrally cast loop at right angles to the plane of the plate. A low ridge runs down the middle of the plate, and two drilled holes of diameter 2mm, lightly countersunk on the display face are set on this centre line. Silver finger ring. Cast rectangular section band with a butted and soldered join behind a separately cast bezel representing a pair of clasped hands with the thumbs intertwined, each hand protruding from a puffed and slashed cuff. A cross with a diagonal line in each of its angles is incised on the band at either shoulder, each cross occupying a field limited by paired vertical lines.
