An incomplete copper-alloy mount or strap fitting of Medieval date, c.AD 1200-1500. The mount is an elongated lozenge shape with a worn break at the narrowest point. Traces of decoration can be seen on the surface, although they are very worn. The decoration resembles a fleur de lis in a beaded border, as depicted in Egan and Pritchard (1991), pp.198-199, number 1077, which comes from a later 13th to mid 14th century context. An incomplete copper-alloy strap end of Early-Medieval date, c.AD 750 - 850. The strap end is of Thomas' Class B, Type 4 with zoomorphic terminal and multi-headed decoration. It is sub-triangular in shape with two relief-moulded confronting zoomorphic heads on the body as well as the zoomorphic terminal. Each animal head has semi-circular moulded eyes, a raised rectangular snout, and raised semi-circular ears. The strap end is cast in two pieces to allow the strap material to be fitted. A fragment of a knife consisting only of a complete copper-alloy knife guard probably of Medieval to Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1350-1800. This object would have fitted on a whittle-tang knife at the base of the handle, covering the area where the blade changes into a tang. The guard is trapezoid in plan and cross-section. A complete copper alloy coin weight used for checking the gold noble dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1500-1700). The weight is square in plan and is very worn. The obverse possibly depicts a ship, whilst the reverse depicts a hand which is the mark for Antwerp. No other distinguishing features are apparent. A similar more well preserved example of what the original may have looked like can be seen on the PAS database: SUR-FCFD14.
