Copper alloy object, possibly a weight. A late Early-Medieval copper alloy barrel-shaped weight. The object is globular, solid, and has a slightly flattened surface at opposing ends, which allow it to sit still without rolling. The pit on the flat side might show where a nail shank has been used to help extract the object. The convex surface bears the impressions of a fine sand, which may hint at production in the course of more extensive works using a sand bed for casting. Patinated. The mass might alternatively permit this object to have served as a weight, representing 10 units of 4.43gms, respecting the favoured system of measurement for silver bulli…

A lead pot mend of unknown exact date but probably within the Roman to Post Medieval date range (c. AD 43-1700). The recess retains reddish brown clay-like remains which could be indicative of the vessel or detritus from the field of recovery. The object has a whitish-grey patina. The overall dimensions are as follows: 35.28mm in length, 29.13mm in width, 10.68mm in thickness and 40.74g in weight.
