Obverse: EDWR' ANG[L D]NS hYB; Crowned bust facing with a trifoliate crown and wedged drapery. Reverse: CIVI/TAS/LON/DON; Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant. A complete and corroded Medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy closed thimble (c. 1400-c. 1550). This thimble is circular in plan and the walls taper inwards from the base towards the crown. There is a plain rim and no manufacturing marks. The outer face has lines of evenly spaced sub-circular indentations/drilled pits which spiral near the base but then become parallel. A complete, cast, copper alloy, Post Medieval coinweight. The weight is for an English gold coin called the Rose Noble, also known as a "ship" Ryal. The weight was made in Antwerp by Hans Foncq. The weight is flat and nearly square. It is red-brown in colour. On the front is a ship with a tudor rose imposed, to the left of the ships mast is a R, indictaing the weight is for a Rose Noble. The body is narrow, broadly rectangular with the breast rounded and the tail end squared off. The neck projects vertically and curves forwards to form the bulbous head. Incomplete copper-alloy post-medieval strap fitting with gilding, dating to the 16th-17th century. Cast in one-piece. Extending from the rectangular plate is a curved fitting which might represent half an attachment loop or knob. The rectangular plate is decorated with punched circular motifs and there is evidence of gilding on the plate and the hook.
