A small, incomplete Medieval cast copper alloy strap fitting dating to c.1300 – 1500.
Description: The single loop frame is sub-circular in shape, with a short offset and slightly recessed bar. The inner edges are bevelled. The attachment which would have fixed a leather strap to the frame is missing.

Copper alloy openwork Medieval mount in the form of a closed and serifed letter E. There are two narrow rivets, one at either end of the central letter bar. Similar letter mounts have been found in Zeeland and are shown and discussed in Medieval Chic in Metal (2012) p119-129. Circa AD1300-1500.

A base and body sherd of a ceramic, wheel thrown, vessel of Roman black burnished ware (BB2) dating to the period c. AD 120 AD - 250.
Description: The fabric has a smooth silky exterior and the interior shows wheel turn markings. Its fabric exhibits sparse small well sorted mica and sandy quartz inclusions. The base has worn markings on one rim - possibly the potter or the owner's mark.
Measurements: Base diameter 48.14mm. 88.29mm long 71.99mm wide roughly, 32.25mm high maximum side. 4.53mm thick. Weighs 48.32g.

A ceramic, body sherd of a coarse ware bung hole pitcher, jug or cistern of Medieval date (c. 1250-1500 AD).
Description: The sherd is broadly circular in plan, with seven sides which each represent an abraded break. The bung hole is 9.5mm diameter and is surrounded by a flattened rim of approximate 36.69mm diameter at the top of a 17.6mm high neck.The fabric is hard and gritty with fine inclusions, black or dark grey coloured externally and with some sandy brown areas on the inside.

Description: The sherd includes the broadly rectangular strap handle flaring at the top to a break where it originally attached to the jug body. The strap handle has a prominent curve before it terminates at an abraded break. A body sherd from the rim and shoulder of a grass tempered ceramic vessel probably dating from the Early to Mid Saxon period (circa 450-1000AD).
Description: The sherd is almost black in colour externally with small (up to 4mm) gritty inclusions and many irregular incised lines caused by wrapping in grass or straw before firing. Internally the colour ranges from black to mottled sandy brown and the inclusions are more evident, but no grass marks. The rim is everted approximately 12mm deep and then the shoulder is quite shallow.

Description: Fine, black sandy fabric with small shiny (mica?) inclusions. The core and interior surface is the same colour as the exterior - very dark grey. The sherd is decorated with incised, linear angular decoration in a regular chevron pattern.

A rim sherd fragment from a Roman Samian ware flanged, hemispherical bowl, Dragendorff Form 38, dating to AD 140-230.
Description: The vessel has a beaded rim and a curved flange which originally continued around its circumference. The fragment is smooth textured with signs of wheel throwing internally. It has a terracotta pink colour coated in a red slip on both the inside and outside, which is abraded with some of the slip worn away. The broken edges are well worn from the movement of water.

A rim sherd fragment from a Roman Central Gaulish or Eastern Gaulish samian ware hemispherical bowl, probably Dragendorff Form 30 or 37, dating to AD 70-230.
Description: The sherd has a beaded rim with a plain band beneath followed by a moulded decoration consisting of a band of rosette-tongued ovolo. An incomplete copper alloy shoe or knee buckle, with its central bar and pin missing dating to the post-medieval period (c. AD 1660-1720). The top and bottom edges are incurved, and decorated with three transverse mouldings. The outside edges are outcurved, with some relief decoration around grooved pin rests. One of the pin rests has iron corrosion, suggesting an iron pin. There are also traces of a separate iron bar around which the pin was hinged.
It measures 25.5 mm in length, is 16.6 mm wide, 3.0 mm thick, and weighs 3.2g.
